个人简介
Antonio Napoli received the Master and Ph.D. degrees in Electronics Engineering from Politecnico di Torino, Italy in 2002 and 2006, respectively, under the supervision of Profs. P. Poggiolini and V. Curri. He was visiting student at the TU Wien during his master thesis (2001 -- 2002); visiting researcher at Universitat Politecnica de Catalunya in Barcelona (with Prof. J. Prat, 2004) and at University College London, UK (with Profs. P. Bayvel and R. Killey and Dr. S. Savory, 2005), during his PhD.
In 2006, he joined Siemens COM in Munich, where he worked on EDFA transient suppression and DSP for long-haul optical networks. In 2007, he joined Nokia Siemens Networks, where he worked on optical transmission up to 400 Gb/s. In 2013, he joined Coriant, where he led the data plane task within the EU FP7 IDEALIST project and coordinated several research activities and funded projects. Since Oct. 1st 2018, he is with Infinera, where he will continue the R&D projects started within Coriant.
He regularly supervises students and serves as reviewer for all main IEEE and OSA magazines in our sector. In 2016, he was nominated top reviewer by the IEEE / OSA J. of Lightwave technology. Dr. Napoli has been twice guest editor for IEEE / OSA J. of Optical Communications and Networking and once for IEEE / OSA J. of Lightwave Technology. Dr. Napoli is project reviewer for UK governmental organization Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC).
Since 2018, he serves as TPC member at OFC, in the sub-committee S5 on Digital Transmission Systems, where he co-organized two workshops during OFC 2017 and 2018 and a third one will be co-organized for OFC 2020.
Starting from Jan. 2019, he co-coordinates the ETN Marie Curie WON (Wideband Optical Networks) with 14 PhD students and the European Industrial Doctorate program REAL-NET both with the Aston University, UK. He is also representing Infinera within the European Flagship Project CiViQ on Quantum Communications.
His research interests include DSP for optical bandwidth variable transponders from metro to ultra-long-haul networks and receivers, advanced modulation techniques, and wideband optical system design and modeling. Dr. Napoli represents Infinera within the OIF, PLL Optical WG.
Dr. Napoli is a (co)-author of 7 patents, 49 journals, 106 conferences articles, 4 OIF contributions and 1 book chapter.
