Research Activities - Examined network (rigidity) evolution in binary chalcogenide glass GexSe1-x via structural (XRD), thermal (DSC, low-T Cp), and vibrational (Raman) studies; registered two (2nd- and 1st-order) compositional transitions en-route to bulk-rigidity. Multiferroicity in hexagonal-YMnO3 investigated via Fe-substitution of Mn was found to cause isostructural changes with indications of linear magneto-electric effect, and disorder-driven spin-reorientation hand-in-hand with the qualitative change (sign-reversal) of the magneto-electric coupling. Colossal dielectric constant (CDC) of CaCu3Ti4O12 exhibiting many-body effects and strange kinetics was traced to Ca-/Cu-rich antisite-disordered fractal sub-structure, with electrical inhomogeneity. A novel quantum paraelectric glass (QPG) state is identified in SrCu3Ti4O12 near its AFM-T_N. A field-induced phase transition in KDP crystal is found transforming its domain wall matter from single-particle pinned / strong-glassformer to collective / superfragile-glassformer character. ME-behaviour in La0.53Ca0.47MnO3 was linked with ferro/para-magnetic phase coexistence. Disorder-broadened spin-state crossover in La0.95Ca0.05CoO3 collaterally vitrifies the allied dipole-clusters; magnetic devitrification provided new route to ME. Presently investigating harmonic-ME in multiglasses. Currently Professor Emeritus (retired as Scientist- H, July 2019) in the UGC-DAE Consortium for Scientific Research, Indore (India).
