Dr. Andreas Laupacis is the Executive Director of the Li Ka Shing Knowledge Institute of St. Michael’s Hospital (LKSKI). Dr. Laupacis completed his MD at Queen’s University and his masters in Design, Measurement and Evaluation at McMaster University, Canada. He brings broad academic experience in clinical trials, health policy, health economics, and clinical epidemiology to the King Saud University Medical Research Program and has authored over 270 peer-reviewed publications and numerous policy reports. He is a past President and CEO (2001-2006) of the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, one of Canada’s largest health services research organizations. In addition to his academic work, Dr. Laupacis has considerable health policy experience, having been the first chair of the Canadian Expert Drug Advisory Committee (2003-2006) and is currently Chair of the Quality and Safety committee of the Alberta Health Services Board. Dr. Laupacis is a Professor of Medicine and Health Policy Management and Evaluation at the University of Toronto and an adjunct scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences.
