Bio
Akio Kuroda is a Professor at Hiroshima University, Japan. He earned his Ph.D. from Osaka University (Department of Engineering) in 1993. In 1995, he was awarded the Human Frontier Science Program Fellowship and until 1996 worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University (Arthur Kornberg laboratory). Dr. Kuroda’s current research focuses on the specific interaction of proteins or peptides with inorganic surfaces and its application to detection of asbestos and other harmful nanomaterials. Dr. Kuroda has received several honors from Ministry of education, culture, sports, science & technology in Japan as well as Japanese academic societies.
