个人简介
main (i) helped to identify and define primary functional inter-relations between natural environmental variables and responsive physiological components of growth in mussels, oysters, scallops and clams, for input to models that integrate consequences of species assemblage and distribution for population dynamics, ecosystem processes or water body status; and (ii) used the exceptional genetic polymorphism in bivalve shellfish to study and model interrelations whereby protein metabolism links genetic diversity with functional consequences for growth efficiency, stress tolerance and population dynamics among animals generally. These activities have entailed molecular biology, population genetics, biochemistry, physiology, ecology and modelling. Management responsibilities have included coordinating or participating in a total of 20 international commissioned research projects, From 2011, as an Honorary Research Fellow at PML, activities have focussed primarily on the development and application of ShellSIM. Collective published output includes more than 70 scientific papers within peer-reviewed international journals, and more than 40 contributions to books or lesser journals
