Bio
Antonio J. Gil received the Ph.D. degree from the Complutense University of Madrid, Madrid, Spain, in 1992.
He is currently a Full Professor of Geodesy at the Department of Cartographic, Geodetic, and Photogrammetric Engineering in the University of Jaén, Jaén, Spain. He has been the Head of the UJA Geodesy Research Group since 1997. His current research interests include crustal deformation monitoring and its application in the prediction of natural disasters, engineering geodesy, global navigation satellite systems, and positioning and navigation based on active GNSS networks. He was the President of the Organizing Committee of the IAG International Symposium on Geodetic Deformation Monitoring (ISGDM2005) held in Jaen (Spain) in 2005. He is author of more than a hundred works, articles and conference reports.
