Career Trajectory
Bio
António J. Baptista (A.J. Baptista) got his Mechanical Engineering Degree (2002) and PhD in Production Technology, Computacional Mechanics (2007) in FCTUC, by University of Coimbra.
After his PhD, from 01/2007 till 05/2011, he worked in Sodecia Technical Center, acquiring experience in validation of sheet metal parts in OEM international projects (FIAT 326, FIAT 327; FORD B515) and toolling (RIGOROSA).
He was also responsible for continuous improvement projects (Kaizen activities, Root Cause Analysis, Cost Reductions, Productivity Increase). He become part of INEGI institute in 06/2011, with roles in R&D project management and research activities development / management.
In 01/2012 he integrated the LAETA Association Laboratory - Laboratório Associado de Energia, Transportes e Aeronautica.
In 01/2016 he was nominated for the INEGI's Scientific Committee, with role of Secretary.
From 6/2011 till 3/2023 worked at INEGI Institute, with roles in R&D Project Management and research activities development & management.
Since 4/2023 he becomes part of INESC TEC, with roles of Research Coordination on Twin Transition.
Author/co-author of several original methodologies/frameworks (15+), 60+ original articles, 7 patents (active), 60+ R&D projects.
