Bio
Dr. Etale's research is multidisciplinary and focuses on (i) the development of nanomaterials for water treatment, and (ii) understanding public perceptions of nano-enabled water treatment technology and alternative waters e.g. recycled water. To date, received more than R 10 million in research funding through grants from the Royal Society, the International Science Council, the Volkswagen Foundation and the Swiss Excellence Fellowship, among others. She is an alumnus of the Royal Society FLAIR and the Swiss Excellence fellowships. Her research interests include:
• Membranes and nanocomposites for mine drainage treatment
• Biological and low-cost nanomaterials water treatment
• Nanotechnology risk perception and technology acceptance
• Water reuse perceptions
