Bio
I'm originally from Vernon, CT and attended Western New England University where I received a B.Sc. in Neuroscience. I am currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Biology under the guidance of Prof. Barry Trimmer at Tufts University. My research interests include biomimetic devices and understanding the neural control of soft-bodied locomotion.
Developing new and robust locomotion strategies has become a center focus for robotics in recent years. The world of engineering is beginning to study and implement a variety of biological systems in their designs. My research seeks to understand the neural control of locomotion in soft-bodied animals. Through adapting and improving biological systems it will be possible to create a robot capable of navigating the complex environments found in everyday life. In addition, I am developing new electrophysiology recording techniques to better simulate an intact organism in order to more faithfully capture neural behaviors.
