Bio
Alexander D. Korotaev was born in 1934. He graduated from Tomsk State University, Tomsk, Russia, in 1957. He received the Ph.D. degree in physics of status solids and the D.Sc. degree in physics and mathematics from Tomsk State University, Tomsk, Russia, in 1963 and 1975, respectively.
He has been with Tomsk State University as an Assistant Professor since 1960. He was the head of the Physical Faculty of Tomsk State University until 1979. In 1978, he acquired the status of Professor. He was the Head of the Department of Metallophysics of the Siberian Physics and Technics Institute until 1992. He was the Head of the Center “Physics and Chemistry of High Energetic Systems” of Tomsk State University until 2012. His scientific research interests include the ion modification of materials surface properties, ion-plasma methods of the nanostructure and nanocomposite coatings designs, problems of phase transformation in solids, and physical problems of plasticity of metal materials.
Prof. Korotaev is a member of the Scientific Counsel of the Russian Academy of Science on relativistic and high current electronics, and a member of the International Scientific Committee of the International Congress on Radiation Physics, High Current Electronics and Modification of Materials.
