Alain Bosseboeuf received the M.S. degree in microelectronics from the Institut Polytechnique de Grenoble, Grenoble, France, the Telecommunications Engineer Diploma from the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Telecommunications de Bretagne, Brest, France, in 1980, the M.S. degree in solid-state physics from the University of Paris 6, Paris, France, in 1981, and the Ph.D. degree in physics from the Université Paris-Sud, Orsay, France, in 1989. Since 1983, he has been a CNRS full-time Researcher with the Institut d'Electronique Fondamentale (IEF), a joint institute of CNRS and the Université Paris-Sud located in Orsay. After more than ten years of research activity on thin-film deposition and characterization, he started to work in the field of microsensors and microelectromechanical systems at the beginning of the 1990s. He is currently heading the research group “NanoBio and Micro/Nanosystems” of the IEF. Since 2006, he has also been coordinating the international research network Nano and Microsystems involving 12 partners from nine countries. His current interests include resonant sensors, MOEMS, assembly technologies for wafer-level packaging and 3-D integration, and associated measurement tools. He is the coauthor of more than 150 papers in international journals and conference proceedings.
