个人简介
The overarching goal of my research is to understand how distributed neural circuits control defensive behaviors. I earned my bachelor’s in Life Sciences (2008) at Paris-Sorbonne University (Paris, France) and completed my Ph.D. in Neuroscience in the laboratory of Dr. Jocelyne Caboche at Paris-Sorbonne University (2011). During my graduate training, I investigated the role of the transcription factor Ets-like transcription factor 1 (Elk-1) in the brain. My work illuminated the critical role of Elk-1 in striatal chromatin remodeling, transcriptional programs, and structural plasticity underlying cocaine-induced behavioral adaptations. I joined Dr. Amar Sahay’s laboratory at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston, MA) in 2012 in order to complete my postdoctoral training. I employed a combination of mouse genetics, in vivo calcium imaging, rabies tracing analysis and optogenetics in freely behaving mice to investigate the role of hippocamposeptal circuits as they relate to defensive behaviors. I obtained an Inserm permanent Research Associate position (2021) and joined Dr. Emmanuel Valjent’s team at the Institute of Functional Genomics (Montpellier, France). My current research project aims at understanding the neural mechanisms underlying persistent avoidance behavior.
