Alexey Zhukov

Alexey E. Zhukov was born in Leningrad, Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR), in 1968. He received the degree in optical engineering from the Leningrad Electrical Engineering Institute, Russia, in 1992, and the Candidate of Science and D.Sc. degrees from the Ioffe Institute, Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 1996 and 2002, respectively. He joined the Ioffe Institute. He is currently the Head of the Department of Physics, National Research University Higher School of Economics, Saint Petersburg. He has authored and coauthored more than 700 publications. His current research interests include low-dimensional structures, diode lasers, quantum dots, and microresonators. In 2008, he was elected to the Russian Academy of Sciences.
