个人简介
Dr. Martin's research focuses on the interaction of light with small structures, with a particular focus on plasmonics and biophotonics. His laboratory conducts both experimental and theoretical activities. A more detailed description is available on the website of the Laboratory of Nanophotonics & Metrology.
Olivier J.F. Martin is the author of more than 500 scientific contributions, including 250 publications in reputable peer-reviewed scientific journals. He also has a dozen patents. In 1999 he was awarded the Latsis Prize for his contributions to the study of near-field optics and photonic crystals.
Olivier J.F. Martin regularly participates in the program committees of international conferences. In 2005 he co-organized the Latsis Symposium on Negative Refraction(website); in 2006 he organized the Engelberg conference on Molecular plasmonic devices as well as the 9th International conference on near-field optics, nanophotonics and related technics(NFO-9). A few years ago he launched the COST project MP0803 Plamonic components and devices which brings together most of the European laboratories working in plasmonic applications in signal processing and bio-sensing.
In 2016, Olivier J.F. Martin received an ERC research grant to study the fabrication of nanostructures using plasmonic forces and thus create the Nano-factory of tomorrow.
In his free time he likes sailing (when the wind blows...), gardening (when the wind does not blow...) and music.
