Prof. Wu is a senior member of the Chinese Electrotechnical Society (CES), a member of the CES Small-Power Machine Specialized Committee, a member of the electrical steel committee of Chinese Society for Metals, and a member of the technical committee for small power motors of the National Rotary Motor Standard Committee.
He has been the PI or co-PI in many projects, including Natural Science Foundation of China, National 863 Program, Natural Science Foundation of China of Zhejiang Province, etc. He was the recipient of the third prize in science and technology progress of aerospace industry department, the second prize of Zhejiang natural science progress award, and the second prize of national science and technology award. He has completed dozens of enterprise projects. The software of Visual EMCAD for electric machine design, one of his research achievements, has been widely used in companies and individual applications.
For the EV/HEV, he developed 5kW-200kW high power density permanent magnet synchronous driving motor (PMSM); for the CNC equipment, he developed PMSM servo motor series; for the internet big data, he researched the motor cloud design platform. He has published nearly 100 technical papers in IEEE journals, conference proceedings, and domestic first-class journals. He has published a book and obtained multiple Chinese invention patents and utility model patents.
