个人简介
His research focuses on the complex, controversial but often hidden roles of transnational/global knowledge flows, technological artifacts and people in constitutive disciplines, imaginary geography and laboratory practice. His first book, Imperial Technoscience: A History of NMR Entanglement in the United States, United Kingdom, and India (MIT Press, 2014), brings together two important sociological questions, the An empirical investigation of cultures, and unraveling their hierarchical entanglements in national and transnational political economies and Euro/Western-centric discourses. Thus, the book mines the inter-constitutive role of temporary and long-lasting discourses and practices in science, technology, and medicine. Prasad has also published about the shift in medical visual culture that has occurred with the advent of technologies such as MRI, and the transnational hierarchies in overseas drug trials and medical transcription.
