Apart from his key editorial commitment as the Editor-in-Chief of Ultrasonics, Prof. Su is/was Associate Editor of nine key international journals in his field, including Journal of Sound and Vibration, Structural Health Monitoring: An International Journal, Structural Engineering and Mechanics, and ASME Journal of NDE. He has been a Panel Member of Hong Kong Innovation & Technology Fund (ITF) since 2021.
Prof. Su has published extensively. He is the author/co-author of 2 research monographs, 6 book chapters, 8 edited books/international conference proceedings, and 310+ archived papers including ~190 papers in top-tier journals. His work has been cited widely, leading to ~8400 citations (Google Scholar) and an H-index of 46 (as of June 2021). He has secured sizable research grants from governmental agencies.
In parallel with his longstanding dedication to fundamental exploration, Prof. Su has also committed himself to translational research. He holds 3 patents including 2 US Patents, and the Gold Medal of Geneva Invention (2018). In recent years, he has secured ~HKD 10 million in research support from industry, including Airbus, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), AeroEngine Academy of China, China Academy of Space Technology (CAST), High-speed Railways, etc. In these real-world application paradigms, Prof. Su and his group have demonstrated successful knowledge transfer.
