The major research objectives of the Vande Woude laboratory are directed toward understanding of the molecular basis of cellular transformation, tumorigenesis, and metastasis. Research has focused on the function of two proto-oncogene-encoded protein kinases: the Met receptor tyrosine kinase with its ligand, hepatocyte growth factor/scatter factor (HGF/SF), and the Mos serine/threonine kinase.
